Mala & Moyo was born from a longing for calm and connection. The name,
inspired by the Swahili words for ‘calm’ and ‘heart,’ reflects the essence
of what I wanted to create—a sanctuary in scent. My journey began during a
season of change, when travel became my refuge and each destination left an
imprint on my soul. I wanted to capture those feelings—the warmth of a
sunset in Zanzibar, the serenity of a quiet morning in Serengeti, the joy
of laughter shared in Rome—and bring them home in a way that honors the
earth. Every candle is hand-poured with eco-friendly soy wax, pure cotton
wicks, and fragrances that tell stories of cherished memories and faraway
